Class of 2023

I opened a book and in I strode
Now nobody can find me.
I’ve left my chair, my house, my road,
My town and my world behind me.

I’m wearing the cloak, I’ve slipped on the ring,

I’ve fought with a dragon, dined with a king
And dived in a bottomless…

We used Newton Meters to measure the size of the pull of gravity of different masses. We recorded our results, looking for patterns and drew conclusions. The greater the mass the greater the amount of Newtons. 1kg = 10 N

Continuing the Lowry theme with a difference this week. We look at Meha's interpretation on Manchester's buildings and made our own art work based upon this.

We have been looking at changes to materials and whether they are reversible or irreversible. Here we are testing bicarbonate of soda and vinegar. We found that this was........... Have a go at home and find out!

We investigated the best material to make a flask and keep the water warmest for longest. Here we are using our data loggers to take the temmperature of the water.We compiled the results in a table before making a graph to show them.

We looked at the characteristics of the people Lowry painted. The shape, size and coluring he created. They weren't all matchstick men and women.

As part of investigating separating materals, we all got busy sieving. We found it the best way of separating cubes and rice and rice and flour. Although we did also find that adding water to to the cubes and rice worked as the cubes floated and the rice sunk.

We were back dissolving today. However, this time we were changing variables such as water temerature and volume to see if this had an effect on the dissolving. The hotter the temperature the quicker the dissolving takes place

We investigated which substances dissolved in water. We made it a fair test by only changing one variable - the substance. The next step is to investigate what changes we can add to alter the process
