Class of 2023

We held a debate to discuss whether deforestation is necessary and should continue. We looked at reasons for and against before working with our partners to produce our points to be raised in the discussion. Some clear ideas on both sides were put forward and some counter arguments were launched…

The first completed Diorama. Will post a couple more later. Well done to the huge effort the children have put in and their attention to detail.

The first houses are beginning to spring up.

We are creating a diorama to showcase our work relating to LS Lowry. The first steps were to create the diorama and here the girls are painting the cobbles.More to come over the next couple of weeks.

This week, Year 5 took part in lots of fantastic Science week activities. 

We started the week with a Teams meeting with a mystery scientist: David the Process Engineer.

We found the larger parachute took longer to reach the ground due to it encountering greater air resistance.

We made parachutes to investigate the effect of gravity and air resistance. Check out the testing in the next post.

We recreated Galileo's experiment of measuring time with a pendulum. We investigated  the effect of changing the mass or the length on the speed of the swing. Mass made little difference but the longer the string the less swings per 10 seconds,

We celebrated World Book day by sharing books with our Little friends in Reception.
