This morning has been very exciting as we had a visit from Jade who works for The education Group.

Jade came with some wooden African  Dan masks. The masks were made from albezian wood which comes from the Miracle Tree.

Jade explained that we were going to paint the masks in a traditional African style. Jade also explained that each of the colours had a meaning in African Art. The colour red represents war, green for the earth, gold or yellow for fortune, and white for spirit.

Instead of using paint brushes we used cotton buds and made small spots in patterns on the masks.

Take a look through some of our photos.

Reception had a wonderful time and we can’t wait to display all our amazing work.

Thank you to Jade and The Education Group.
